Marine Homecoming

My day started very early this morning. I was at my meeting spot at 6:30am and on my way to Camp Pendleton to observe a Marine homecoming. I've heard about these but to finally witness one onhand was incredible. There were soldiers there who wer laying eyes on their newborn children for the very first time. Everyone was very accommodating and posing for pictures. Funny how people were bringing beloved pets on base to greet the returning soldiers. After 7 months in Helmond, Afghanistan, members of the 1st Battallion 5th Marines come home to open arms of parents, spouses and girlfriends just in time for the holidays. I asked one couple what they were going to do tomorrow and they both said "Get pictures taken".
