William "Bill" Strott waits patiently to take his first run of the day. At 80, Strott has been a track racer for more than 50 years. As a member of the SCAT racing club, Bill races in the Street Unlimited class every two weeks. "My wife made me give up racing but after she died, I took it [racing] up again" claims Strott. Drivers are required to walk the almost 3/4 mile track to familiarize themselves with the turns but after a vote, SCCA and SCAT organizers and boardmembers gave Strott the okay to use a motorized scooter to make his walk around the track before his run."
